Today is my Grandmama's 80th birthday. Her thoughts on being eighty? "Well, it's better than 79.... Because being able to say I'm eighty and look like this versus having to say 79, well, it just sounds better". She may sound vain but the truth of it is; she couldn't be more right! Women obsess with the thought of aging and to be eighty and feel amazingly beautiful is just, well, beautiful.
My grandmama is obviously a very southern belle. She was born in the house she lives in today. Granddaddy jokes that she didn't get far in life, just from the front bedroom to the master bedroom. The house was built in 1905 in what was called Bullochville, GA on what was post civil war rural Georgia a little over an hour from Atlanta. Family history is a passion of my grandmamas and our family is so lucky to have all of the history collected and preserved by her, with the help of granddaddy of course. She loves her family and flowers are always adorning the graves at the small cemetery where my ancestors are buried.
To say that I love my grandmama is an understatement. She and my granddaddy (who turned 86 on New Year's Eve) are the modern day Snow White and Prince Charming. Literally, I'm pretty sure she can speak to the animals. They are both so pure at heart and what every couple should want to be. Because of the them, I believe in the existence of true love. Their yard even looks like something from a fairy tale.
Grandmamas are special and to me, well I hit he jack pot. The adventures we went on and the stories she would tell to me as a child made my childhood nothing short of magical. Enjoy your grandparents and all of your loved ones while you can. You never know when you won't have them, it breaks my heart at the thought of not having them.

First Original Blog
This is my first original blog. Before you click away as I probably would if I were you, hear me out. Please.
I'm Starting a blog because like many millennials I am overly educated and under employed therefore I have a lot of time on my hands when I'm not being hired for a job or searching in vain for a job that fits my skill set. I'm sure many, too many, can relate. Kinda sucks being 'the first generation that will not be more successful than our parents'. Or, whatever. We are in debt from student loans and although we are more educated than previous generations, we can't really move further because our parents and their friends are working until they are 100!
Don't y'all just love how everyone has an opinion about what you are doing with your life? The people that think jobs fall out trees. The people that think that people want hand delivered resumes despite the job description explicitly stating 'please apply online only'. The people who say "Well, you have two degrees.... Anyone would want to hire you!" I could go on and on about the ridiculous and slightly demeaning things said to me about my lack of a job. Believe me, I want one. A career. I've worked for it and it's not going to be handed to me but jobs that I am educated, trained and experienced to do are just not readily available. I know I'm not the only one.
As millenials we have the education and the creativity to essentially do what we want since the economy is not in our favor.
So, here is my attempt to pass the time until I land that dream career. Join the blogging world. Over saturated, sure, but hey, what do I have to lose.
My blog will be a random mix of traveling, adventures, animals, basically anything I feel like writing about. Everyone has a story. This will be mine.
Always,
Nat

As millennials, we have literally lived at the crossroads of life, and it's NOT going to make us complacent, because we are smart, creative and determined to make it work. We are the "Me Me Me generation" no?
